A women's anatomical armored suit of domestic production has been introduced in Ukraine. The suit was manufactured by the company "Ukrainian Armor." The model is called "Ruta Liuta" and differs from the male version in having a bulletproof vest designed to accommodate the anatomy and physiology of the female body.
There are 37,000 women serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and more than a thousand of them have become commanders.
The armor was developed taking into account the technical requirements of the Ministry of Defense, the wishes of military personnel, and recommendations from medical professionals, according to the team. The armored suit has a fivefold larger area of anti-fragmentation protection compared to ballistic plates, significantly increasing the chances of avoiding injuries in combat conditions, say the manufacturers. Additionally, it is considerably lighter than the "male" version.
The product also features an external pocket for a ballistic plate, making it more comfortable for extended wear and helping to prevent chafing and circulation issues in the chest area, the company explains.
The armored suit, like protective plates, is available in four sizes. It consists of a bulletproof vest, separate modules that provide protection for the neck, shoulders, abdomen, groin, and the outer part of the thighs, as well as a armored load-bearing belt with shoulder straps. All parts are adaptable and adjustable in length.
You can order the armored suit on the manufacturer's website, and its cost is 49,500 hryvnias. The kit does not include ballistic plates, which can be purchased separately.
