The Cabinet of Ministers allocated 100 million UAH to Odessa for security measures.

During a briefing in Odessa, Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba told:

“From the government’s side, there will be ongoing support and oversight of the tasks assigned to the head of the Odesa Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak. Today we decided to provide the city of Odessa with an additional subsidy – 100 million UAH for security measures. This will go toward protecting both infrastructure and people,” Kuleba said.

He also recalled the tragedy on September 30, when ten people died during heavy rains, noting that the city faces numerous challenges.

“The situation needs to be stabilized,” he added.

Also the plans are underway to create a City Defense Council to strengthen security.

During a briefing, Odesa Military Administration head Serhiy Lysak said:

“My first steps are to enhance the city’s defense capabilities. This includes creating a City Defense Council so that we can effectively protect infrastructure,” Lysak said.

He added that the city council’s deputies will continue their work.

“The city council will not be disbanded – it is a local self-government body. We are a democratic country, and the deputies were elected by the people. I am confident that we will find common ground,” Lysak noted.
