The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has released data on an additional 31 maritime vessels and 11 Russian captains involved in schemes to bypass sanctions on Russian oil trade.

According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, among the individuals disclosed are captains of tankers affiliated with the sanctioned Russian company "Sovcomflot," who are violating the policy on the price cap for Russian oil. Specifically, these include Ivan Nikifirov, captain of the tanker KOTLAS, and Konstantin Kovalenko, captain of the tanker CORUS.

The Main Intelligence Directorate noted that these captains possess detailed information about the owners of the "shadow" tankers, the technical condition of the vessels, the cargo and its value, as well as the ship's route.

They are the ones making decisions regarding the disabling or manipulation of the vessels' navigation systems, falsifying location data, entering false information into logbooks, unsafe oil transloading between ships at sea, and employing other schemes to evade sanctions.

"These actions not only contribute to funding the aggressive war against Ukraine but also pose a threat to a global environmental disaster," the Intelligence Directorate emphasized.

In the "Maritime Vessels" section on the Main Intelligence Directorate's War&Sanctions portal, data on 782 vessels and 100 captains is now available.
