The delegation from the German city of Hamburg, led by the mayor, arrived for a visit to Kyiv.
The senate of the metropolis announced on social media that their support during the crisis must continue. Hamburg remains firmly on the side of the Ukrainian people. With this message, Mayor Peter Tschentscher arrived in Kyiv today by night train.
Meanwhile, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine, Martin Eger, wrote: 'Welcome to Kyiv, Mr. Mayor! Hamburg is not far from Kyiv. Hamburg's support is helpful. The people here in Kyiv are very grateful for it!'
The delegation arrived at the invitation of Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko. This is Tschentscher's first trip to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war. Meetings are planned in Kyiv with the Klitschko brothers and Ukrainian government ministers.
Hamburg is a sister city of Kyiv.
