The monitoring group Belarusian Hajun announced on Friday that it has ceased its activities. This was stated on the group's Telegram page.
"The monitoring project Belarusian Hajun is stopping its operations," the post reads.
On Wednesday, the project's founder Anton Motolko stated that on the morning of February 5, as a result of unauthorized access, unidentified individuals gained access to the chat with the "Hayun" bot, where information from people was collected.
"We don’t know how much data could have been leaked during the time the third-party account had access. I want to say immediately that this situation was due to human error, and this error was mine," Motolko wrote.
He noted that people who sent information to the project that could identify them, or used accounts that could reveal their identity, are now at risk.
Motolko advised all subscribers who have been using a Telegram account for a long period of time to delete it and create a new one.
The project's founder added that critical vulnerabilities have now been fixed, but stated that it was not possible to fully protect individuals.
As reported by Current Time, the Belarusian Hajun group is an independent monitoring project that tracks the movement of Russian and Belarusian troops on the territory of Belarus. The Telegram channel collects and analyzes data sent by Belarusians living in various parts of the country.
