The National Full-Length Competition "Molodist" will take place at the film festival in Hamburg

The National Competition of Ukrainian Short and Full-Length Films from the Kyiv International Film Festival Molodist will take place for the second time at the Filmfest Hamburg, Germany. The competition will feature seven full-length narrative films, all of which are debut or sophomore films directed by filmmakers.

Filmfest Hamburg is the largest festival in the region and one of the leading film festivals in Germany. The 31st edition of the festival in Hamburg is scheduled to run from September 28th to October 7th.

Among the films to be screened at the festival are "Forever Forever" by Anna Buryachkova, "La Palisiada" by Filip Sotnychenko, "How Is Katya?" by Kristina Tynkevych, "Me and Felix" by Iryna Tsilyk, "Lucky Girl" by Marisia Nikityuk, "Do You Love Me?" by Tonia Noyabreva, and "Luxembourg, Luxembourg" by Antonio Lukich.

These films will compete for the "Scythian Deer" award and a cash prize of 100,000 hryvnias. The jury panel includes Ukrainian-German actress Alina Levshin, Austrian director David Wagner, and Ukrainian psychology doctor Svitlana Uvarova.

The Ukrainian program at Filmfest Hamburg will be concluded with a non-competitive screening of the documentary film "Independence Day" by Volodymyr Tykhy.

Last year, the National Competition "Molodist" also took place in Hamburg. The best full-length film was "Stop-Zemlya" by Kateryna Gornostai, and the best short film was "Leopolis Night" by Nikon Romanchenko.
