Members of the Committee on Agriculture of the Dutch Parliament declared their readiness to support Ukrainian farmers.
This is stated in the message of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine following the meeting of parliamentarians of Ukraine and the Netherlands.
Thus, in the already pledged â¬180 million assistance package for Ukraine, â¬10 million will go to demining agricultural land, and â¬40 million to purchase seeds and equipment for Ukrainian agriculture.
During the meeting, Oleksandr Gaidou, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy, called on the Dutch colleagues to support Ukrainian farmers, work together on projects to modernize irrigation systems, and help increase the export of Ukrainian products.
âWe would welcome the help of the Netherlands in demining to speed up this process. After all, this is one of the pressing problems of farmers, especially in the southern and eastern regions,â said Olexandr Gaidou.
Also, the Chairman of the Agrarian Committee called for cooperation in implementing projects for the restoration and modernization of irrigation and drainage systems. According to him, it is crucial to expand new logistics routes with the EU further so that Ukrainian farmers can export products abroad. After all, despite the continued work of the "grain agreement", Russia deliberately detained ships with Ukrainian grain in the Bosporus.
