Pope Francis remarks that the horrors of the Second World War are looming again today in Ukraine, and calls on the faithful to pray the Mother of God to comfort all those suffering the brutality of war.
During the general audience, Pope Francis again recalled the war in Ukraine and compared it with the operation of Nazi Germany against the Jews during World War II.
"History is repeating itself today!" - said the Pope, according to Vatican News.
âMay the memory of this horrible event arouse resolutions and actions for peace in all,â said the Pope.
Recall that in recent statements, the Pope condemns Russia's actions in Ukraine more and more strongly, although before that he blamed NATO for the war and spoke out in support of Russian culture.
In particular, in November, he said that Ukrainians were suffering from the "martyrdom of aggression" and compared the consequences of the war for Ukrainians with the "terrible genocide" of the 1930s, when Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin staged a famine in the country.
