Conclusions and recommendations based on the results of the IAEA mission at the Zaporizhia NPP will be implemented when the plant is brough back under the full control of Ukraine.
Minister of Energy German Galushchenko emphasized that on his Facebook page.
He noted that today the IAEA mission, which had gone to the ZNPP, began its important work, the analogs of which have not been seen in the entire history of the organization.
"We highly appreciate the efforts of IAEA Director-General Rafael Grossi and his team aimed at ensuring the nuclear safety of our country and the world due to the extraordinary threats caused by the actions of the russian military at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant occupied by them," the Minister stressed.
German Galushchenko accentuated that the ZNPP is a Ukrainian nuclear power plant, and only Ukraine is capable of guaranteeing the fulfillment of all components of operational safety. Therefore, the conclusions and recommendations based on the results of the mission will be implemented when the station is returned to full control of Ukraine.
"After the de-occupation of the station, an important stage will be the creation of a demilitarized zone around it," the Minister emphasized.
He noted that the Ukrainian side had discussed with the mission and given it a list of technical and safety indicators important for international experts to check during a visit to the station.
"Successful implementation of all tasks by the mission will be of great importance for the nuclear security not only of Ukraine, but also of the whole world," German Galushchenko summarized.
