Since the start of the full-scale war, over 140 Russian missile strikes have been launched against the facilities of Ukrhydroenergo, in addition to the Russian forces blowing up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station.
This was reported by the company's press service, citing the chairman of the supervisory board of Ukrhydroenergo, Valentyn Hvozdi.
According to Hvozdi, the total damage from the missile strikes exceeds several billion dollars.
The destruction of the Kakhovka HPP has resulted in the loss of 335 MW of renewable energy capacity and has worsened water supply in the region.
Additionally, 94% of irrigation systems in the Kherson region, 74% in Zaporizhzhia, and 30% in Dnipropetrovsk have been lost. The total loss amounts to 18 billion cubic meters of water, equivalent to two years of water supply for Ukraine.
The company is forced to change its development plans and focus on enhancing infrastructure security, drawing on the experiences of South Korea and Japan, which have also faced aggression from neighboring countries, as noted by Ukrhydroenergo.
