On June 22, the Russian army launched a missile strike on the training ground of one of the mechanized brigades of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where training sessions with servicemen were being conducted – three people were killed, and 11 were wounded.
This was announced by the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Thanks to timely safety measures taken upon receiving the air raid warning, it was possible to avoid numerous casualties among personnel. However, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded. All the victims are receiving all the necessary qualified assistance in medical institutions,” the statement reads.
The Ground Forces expressed sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the fallen servicemen.
“To determine all the details of the incident, a special commission has been created at the Command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Law enforcement agencies are also working at the scene,” the Ground Forces noted.
At the same time, additional safety measures are being taken to preserve the lives and health of servicemen in the event of repeated missile and air strikes by the aggressor state.
Later, the Ground Forces clarified: as of 17:27, three people were reported killed and 11 wounded.
