Russians launched a massive Shahed strike on Sumy overnight on September 17, as reported by Sumy Regional Military Administration and acting mayor Artem Kobzar
"Last night, the enemy used Shahed UAVs to carry out a massive air strike on the city of Sumy."
The Regional Military Administration added that the consequences of the attack are being clarified, and all services are working on eliminating the aftermath of the attack.
"Enemy Shaheds targeted energy infrastructure facilities. The Konotop, Okhtyrka, and Sumy districts were affected. Critical infrastructure facilities, such as water stations, hospitals, and others, have been connected to backup power systems," message reads.
It was reported that air defense forces shot down 16 Shaheds over the region.
Emergency crews are currently carrying out restoration work, according to the Regional Military Administration.
