The SBU detained another correctional officer in Mykolaiv

The Security Service of Ukraine detained another corrections officer, who collected and transmitted information about the locations and movements of the Armed Forces units in Mykolaiv.

According to the investigation, the traitor turned out to be a 62-year-old local pensioner. He took the initiative to help the enemy for ideological reasons. Through messengers and social networks, he transmitted data about:

  • location of servicemen and military formations of the Armed Forces;
  • movement of military equipment and means of destruction on the territory of the Mykolaiv region.

The information was sent with reference to the coordinates and a detailed description of the accompanying information.

Currently, the person involved has been detained and notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information on the transfer of weapons and military supplies to Ukraine, the movement, transfer, or placement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine).

During the search of the perpetrator's place of residence, law enforcement officers seized: a mobile phone and a laptop with evidence of illegal activity.

Investigative actions are ongoing to establish the circumstances and identify and bring to justice all persons involved in the offense.

SBU employees carried out measures to expose the traitor in the Mykolaiv region under the procedural guidance of the Mykolaiv regional prosecutor's office.
