The Security Service of Ukraine conducted a number of anti-terrorist measures in Uman, Cherkasy region, on the eve of the annual celebration of Rosh Hashanah and the arrival of a large number of pilgrims. These actions aim to strengthen security and respond rapidly to possible threats.
Regional units of the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police, the National Guard, the State Emergency Service and other agencies are involved in counter-subversive measures.
Comprehensive training took place on the territory of the unfinished building in the historical and cultural center named after Rabbi Nachman to check the security of the pilgrimage site.
Here, the special forces of the SBU simulated the situation and carried out assault operations using mountaineering equipment, detained a conditional "terrorist group," and freed the hostages.
Despite all security measures taken, the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police recommend that Hasidic pilgrims refrain from visiting Ukraine this year to celebrate Rosh Hashanah. This is due to the fact that Russia can use the arrival and mass gathering of pilgrims to stage provocations.
