Counterintelligence of the Security Service neutralized the extensive intelligence network of the Russian special services in Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions.
For example, a Russian agent was detained in Dnipro collecting information on the location of mobile communication facilities.
He passed on this intelligence to the occupiers in the form of videos with reference to the area and a detailed description of the buildings and the surrounding area.
The man also videotaped the movement of Ukrainian military units. It has been established that his "liaison" in Russia was one of the pro-Kremlin bloggers with more than 300,000 subscribers. The agent turned to him for help in being appointed to a "position" in the occupation administration in the event of the capture of the region.
During searches of the perpetrator's whereabouts, law enforcement officers found computer equipment and means of communication, which he used to communicate with a representative of the Russian secret services.
The detainee has now been informed of the suspicion of committing a crime and remanded in custody.
Another traitor was detained in the Donetsk region. According to the investigation, he provided the enemy with information about the positions of the Armed Forces in the east and the location of Ukrainian checkpoints and critical infrastructure in the Kramatorsk district.
And in the Zhytomyr region, the SBU neutralized a group of hostile Internet agents, including a Russian citizen.
The attackers distributed propaganda publications on social networks supporting Russia's aggression against Ukraine. Materials for their "posts" were taken from pro-Kremlin online publications.
Enemy agitators have also been exposed in the region. They were two residents of the regional center who publicly called on residents to support the occupiers and justify their crimes.
The Security Service continues investigative and operational actions to identify and prosecute all persons involved in these crimes.
