The security service exposed a former militant of the Russian occupation groups during counter-subversive measures in the Odessa region.
The attacker turned out to be a local resident, who in 2015 joined the "Sparta" battalion of the terrorist organization DPR" and participated in combat operations against the ATO forces in eastern Ukraine.
As part of an enemy group, he shelled defensive positions of Ukrainian troops, fought in the Donetsk airport area, was on duty at checkpoints, and studied at sniper courses.
But after being wounded, he left the ranks of the militants and secretly left for the controlled territory of Ukraine. Later, he returned to his permanent residence in Odessa. For a long time, the perpetrator hid from justice and maintained contact with his colleauges.
During the investigative and operative actions, the SSU employees established his location and detained him.
During the search of the suspect's place of residence, law enforcement officers found computer equipment, a mobile phone, and SIM cards with evidence of his criminal activity.
The SSU of the Odessa region carried out measures to expose the perpetrator under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
