The Main Directorate of Internal Security of the SSU neutralized the dealerss in Kyiv, who set up a scheme to fake the acquisition of Ukrainian citizenship.
Dealers introduced themselves as SSU employees and offered foreigners their "assistance" in obtaining a Ukrainian passport. For this, they promised their clients to use their own "connections" in law enforcement agencies. The cost of the "service" was USD 10,000.
It was for this sum that the gang members " guaranteed " Ukrainian citizenship registration for a Russian woman with a temporary residence permit on the territory of our country.
For "persuasiveness", the perpetrators presented a fake "service card" to a citizen of the Russian Federation.
SSU employees detained the dealers while handing over the first part of the money for the "passport".
According to the investigation, the suspects were two residents of the capital, one of whom was charged with criminal responsibility for attacking a police officer.
An investigation is underway to establish the offense's circumstances and bring the guilty to justice.
Investigative and operative actions were carried out by SSU employees together with the National Police under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
