The Security Service of Ukraine has arrested an accomplice of the Russian aggressors who facilitated the transfer of the Kherson branch of Ukrposhta to the enemy.

The detained individual is a local resident who, during the occupation of the regional center, agreed to lead the "legal department of the state unitary enterprise 'post Kherson' of the Russian Federation."

He carried out tasks assigned by the local occupier Saldo for the "Russification" of the local management of Ukrposhta. Vladimir Saldo is a Ukrainian and Russian politician serving as the acting governor of the collaborationist annexed Kherson region in Russian-occupied Ukraine since 4 October 2022. A member of the ruling United Russia, he previously served as the head of the Kherson military-civilian administration from 26 April to 4 October 2022.

Among other things, the suspect prepared "documentation" for the illegal transfer of material assets of the Kherson branch of Ukrposhta to the Russians. Additionally, he assisted in connecting the Russian occupation authorities to the local postal communication system.

After the liberation of Kherson, the criminal tried to evade justice. However, SSU officers managed to identify and apprehend him.

Based on the gathered evidence, SSU investigators informed the detainee of the suspicion under Article 111-2, Part 1, of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (assistance to the aggressor state). Currently, he is in custody, and the investigation is ongoing. The criminal faces up to 12 years of imprisonment.
