The Security Service of Ukraine has neutralized another FSB intelligence group operating in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The operatives were preparing coordinates for Russian airstrikes on military and critical infrastructure in the region.
Priority targets for the Russians included enterprises producing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for Ukrainian Defense Forces. They also focused on military vehicle repair bases and key transport routes used for moving Ukrainian weapons and ammunition to the front lines.
To direct the strikes, the FSB recruited six local residents remotely. The Russian intelligence agency created a Telegram channel to find supporters of Russian aggression.
For secrecy, the agents operated separately in various settlements, reporting to a single FSB curator. Under his guidance, they tracked the movement of Ukrainian military convoys and the accumulation of military equipment returning from the front for maintenance. They used personal connections among local residents to gather information on UAV production sites.
SSU counterintelligence documented and detained all members of the FSB agent group. During searches, they found 16 mobile phones, laptops, and tablets with evidence of communication with the Russian intelligence agency.
The suspects have been charged under Article 111, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason committed during wartime). They are currently in custody without bail, facing life imprisonment with property confiscation.
The identity of the FSB group leader, currently in Russia, has also been established.
