The charitable campaign "A Ukrainian book for Ukrainian children!", launched on March 15, 2022, by the State Committee for Television and Radio together with the Office of the President of Ukraine and the MCIP is ongoing. Its goal is to provide textbooks and fiction to young Ukrainians who, because of the war, were forced to leave for safe regions of Ukraine and abroad.
In particular, in January 2023, the Ukrainian library in Hanover (Germany), created on the Ukrainian Union of Lower Saxony initiative, received 300 children's books. Almost 1,500 pieces of literature were handed over to the Embassy of Ukraine in Romania. Many Ukrainian refugees also live in this country.
Almost 3,000 Ukrainian books are currently on their way to Bulgaria and Spain. Also in January, cars left for Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Slovakia with a total of more than 3,500 books.
As of January 2023, more than 600,000 books have been delivered to libraries, educational institutions, and organizations in Ukraine and European countries. Books are transported by trucks of volunteers and volunteer organizations. Book hubs currently operate in Vienna and Bratislava. Negotiations are also underway regarding the organization of a logistics center in Poland for receiving, processing, distribution, sorting and delivery of humanitarian aid for citizens of Ukraine who were forced to leave their country to escape Russian aggression and are now temporarily living in various European countries.
