Russian forces have recently increased the number of infantry-based assault operations in the Pokrovsk, Lyman, and Kupiansk directions.
This was stated by State Border Guard Service spokesperson Andrii Demchenko during a television broadcast.
“I can note that in recent days the enemy has increased the number of its assault attempts, specifically involving infantry, in the Pokrovsk, Lyman, and Kupiansk directions, in those sectors of the defense where units of the State Border Guard Service are deployed. Previously, activity was mainly concentrated in the Pokrovsk direction, but now we also see increased enemy activity in the other two directions,” Demchenko said.
He noted that the Russian forces has not achieved any territorial gains. According to him, Russian forces are suffering significant losses from Ukrainian UAV operators, artillery, and infantry.
“In the border area, if we speak about Sumy and Kharkiv regions, the number of assault attempts has somewhat decreased overall. However, in the direction of the Vovchanski Khutory settlement, the enemy continues frequent attempts to advance,” he added.
He also said that on the Chernihiv direction, no attempts by Russian forces to advance on the ground have been recorded, and there has been no increase in activity by Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
