Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck 18 vessels belonging to Russian forces overnight on July 10, including 13 tankers, the Ilsky oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, the Kurgannefteprodukt oil terminal in Taganrog, Rostov region, and other Russian facilities.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.
“Once again, the Ilsky oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai was hit. Explosions followed by a fire were recorded at the facility. The extent of the damage and the results of the strike are being clarified,” the statement said.
The General Staff noted that the Ilsky refinery is one of the largest oil processing facilities in southern Russia. Its designed capacity is up to 6.6 million tonnes of crude oil per year. The plant produces gasoline, diesel fuel, and other petroleum products, which are used, among other purposes, to support the military logistics of the aggressor state.
The strikes also targeted the Kurgannefteprodukt oil terminal in Taganrog, Rostov region, and the Azovnefteprodukt oil depot in Azov, Rostov region.
A fire was recorded at the terminal, while explosions and smoke were reported at the oil depot. The extent of the damage and the results of the strikes are being assessed.
The General Staff recalled that the Kurgannefteprodukt oil terminal handles the reception, storage, and transshipment of petroleum products in Russia’s Azov region.
The Azovnefteprodukt oil depot is an important fuel infrastructure facility in Rostov region, used for storing and distributing fuel and lubricants. These facilities are also used in the interests of the Russian military.
The General Staff also reported that 13 Russian tankers, three dry cargo vessels, a ferry, and an auxiliary vessel were hit.
The extent of the damage and the results of the strikes are being clarified.
According to the General Staff, these vessels are used to support Russian military logistics, including the transportation of fuel and lubricants, military cargo, and other resources necessary for conducting armed aggression against Ukraine.
In addition, the Novatek-Ust-Luga oil processing complex in Russia’s Leningrad region was hit again.
The results of the strike are being assessed.
“The Novatek-Ust-Luga complex is one of the largest facilities in the Russian Federation for gas condensate processing and the production of light petroleum products. Its processing capacity is around 7 million tonnes of gas condensate per year. The facility is involved in supplying the occupier’s army,” the General Staff said.
A Russian fuel and lubricants storage facility near Rozivka in temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region was also hit.
