The Ukrainian-Estonian defense startup Deftak, which develops next-generation ammunition for drones, has raised €600,000 from the European defense investment fund Darkstar.

The funds raised will help Deftak scale up production and strengthen capabilities to assist the defense forces of Ukraine and NATO, writes AIN.

The company is developing a new type of weaponry that integrates with any unmanned aerial platforms. This allows turning reconnaissance drones into highly accurate strike UAVs even in challenging electronic warfare conditions where GPS signals are unavailable.

The technology has already successfully passed combat tests, operates at altitudes up to 10 km, and costs up to 10 times less than traditional systems.

Deftak’s team includes successful startup founders, scientists, and engineers with experience working at leading tech companies such as Google, Facebook, Megogo, and EPAM.

Darkstar is a coalition of over 20 founders, hackers, and investors from Estonia, Ukraine, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom. They are united by a single goal — building an ecosystem of European defense technologies.
