Volodymyr Sheiko, Director General of the Ukrainian Institute, officially visited the Netherlands. The main purpose was to introduce the Institute’s newly appointed representative, Yuliia Malynovska, to key partners, officials, and heads of cultural institutions across the country.
Yulia Malynovska became the first permanent representative of the Ukrainian Institute in the Netherlands. Her main task is to introduce Ukraine, its culture, artists, current projects and opportunities for bilateral cooperation to the cultural and educational environment. Another important area of work will be the integration of Ukraine into key cultural events in the Netherlands.
‘The Netherlands is a strategically important partner for Ukrainian cultural diplomacy. This country has a strong network of world-class cultural institutions and festivals that can become a platform for presenting Ukrainian art and culture. Our cooperation with Dutch partners opens up unique opportunities for the exchange of experience and joint initiatives that will help strengthen Ukraine’s presence on the European cultural map,’ said Volodymyr Sheiko.
‘When culture is under attack, it must be part of our response. That is why we so deeply value our cooperation with the incredible team at the Ukrainian Institute. DutchCulture is extremely proud of this special partnership. We look forward to continued meaningful and creative exchanges between our countries’, said Kirsten van den Hul, Director of DutchCulture.
The appointment of the Ukrainian Institute’s representative was made possible due to close cooperation with DutchCulture.
Director General of the Ukrainian Institute Volodymyr Sheiko and UI representative in the Netherlands Yuliia Malynovska met with representatives of ministries, parliament and key cultural institutions during the visit to the Netherlands. UI has already cooperated with a number of institutions in the past or has planned joint projects in the coming months.
Among them: European Cultural Foundation, Mondriaan Fund, Prince Claus Fund, Fonds Podiumkunsten, the Dutch Foundation for Literature and Cultural Emergency Response (CER). Conversations were held with the heads of art institutions such as the H’ART, FOAM, Eye Filmmuseum, De Balie Cultural Centre and Holland Festival.
