The Ukrainian Institute has joined the international cultural mobility network On the Move, which includes 78 organizations and institutions from 29 countries worldwide. From now on, both the Ukrainian community and foreign representatives of the cultural sector can participate in the cultural mobility programmes of the Ukrainian Institute and other members of the network.

On the Move is a leading international network dedicated to artistic and cultural mobility. Since 2002, On the Move has been working to provide regular, up-to-date and free information on mobility opportunities, conditions and funding, and to advocate for the value of cross-border cultural mobility. Co-funded by the European Union and the French Ministry of Culture, On the Move is implementing an ambitious multiannual programme to build the capacities of local, regional, national, European and international stakeholders for the sustainable development of our cultural ecosystems.

Membership in On the Move offers the Ukrainian Institute new opportunities to strengthen international connections and promote Ukrainian culture on the global stage.

One of the key On the Move events next year is the Cultural Mobility Forum, which will take place on April 28-30, 2025, in Riga. The forum will serve as a platform for discussing new forms of cultural cooperation and mobility in response to global challenges.

The network has a handful of working groups that focus on specific topics. Currently, these are the Mobility Information Points group, the (En)forced Mobility group, the Mobility Funders group, the Green Context-specific group, and the International Professional Development Programmes group. The Ukrainian Institute also has the opportunity to join these groups.

It is expected that the Ukrainian Institute’s participation in On the Move will foster the development of new partnerships and projects, helping to enhance Ukraine’s cultural presence and influence within the global cultural community.
