The Ukrainian U-23 national team defeated the Japanese U-19 national team in the latest match of the Maurice Revello Tournament, citing the match result.

The Ukrainian team looked more convincing in the first half, but the ball stubbornly avoided the Japanese team's goal. Ruslan Rotan's wards could have opened the scoring early on, but Sikan's header hit the crossbar. The Blue Samurai responded in the middle of the 45th minute when Yermakov parried Yasuda's dangerous shot.
The hero of the Ukrainian Olympic team was Veleten. The midfielder of Kovalivka's Kolos scored a brace, marking himself both before and after the break. In the 42nd minute, he received a pass from Sikan on the edge of the penalty area, adjusted the ball for a shot, and neatly placed it into the far corner.
At the beginning of the second half, Veleten scored his second goal. This time Khlan took on the role of the assistant. The attacking midfielder received his pass within the penalty area and with a powerful shot left no chance for the goalkeeper.
The group stage ended with four victories and no goals conceded, however, the Ukrainian U-23 national team couldn't maintain a clean sheet throughout. In the 81st minute, Shiogai closed a dangerous shot by Homma from ten meters. Neither team scored any more goals, so the Ukrainian U-23 national team won Group B in advance and will await a match with the Ivory Coast U-20 team in the final on June 16th.
