The United Kingdom strongly condemned at the UN Russia's use of an experimental medium-range ballistic missile against the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, calling the Kremlin's actions reckless and accusing Russia of intentionally prolonging the war.

This statement was made by the UK's Permanent Representative to the UN, Barbara Woodward, during a Security Council meeting on Wednesday.

"Last week, Russia launched a medium-range ballistic missile at Dnipro. Ukraine is not a testing ground for new weapons," Woodward emphasized.

She also drew attention to Russia's attempts to escalate the conflict by using indiscriminate guided bombs against Ukrainian cities and targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Woodward highlighted that these are war crimes that put millions of Ukrainian lives in jeopardy, particularly during the cold winter months.

"I could continue, but this reckless pattern of Russia’s actions is solely aimed at prolonging the war and the suffering of the Ukrainian people, while simultaneously creating serious risks for international peace and security," the British diplomat stressed.
