According to the State Maritime and River Transport Service of Ukraine, 94 vessels with foreign crews and hundreds of sailors are currently blocked in Ukrainian ports.

One sailor died as a result of one of the missile strikes inflicted by the aggressor state on merchant ships. Another ship sank near the port of Odessa as a result of rocket fire by the Russian Navy.

The head of the Civil Service Vitaliy Kindrativ called on the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to make joint efforts to establish humanitarian maritime corridors to remove merchant ships from the combat zone and evacuate crews in case the ships cannot be withdrawn.
