Around 5:00 AM today, a battle involving naval forces and aviation took place near the settlement of Mayak at Cape Tarkhankut, in the temporarily annexed region of Crimea. Explosions were also heard. This information is reported by the publication "Crimea.Realities," citing sources within the intelligence community.
The media outlet reminds that the village of Mayak hosts the base of the 3rd Radio-Technical Regiment, which is part of the Radio-Technical Forces of the Russian Aerospace Forces. Additionally, the cape is home to the radar station complex "Nebo-M" and "Kasta-2E2," and defensive positions have been established around the perimeter.
After a while, the Ministry of Defense's Main Intelligence Directorate confirmed that units of Ukrainian intelligence conducted a landing operation on the territory of Crimea. According to spokesperson Andriy Yusov, the special operation was carried out in collaboration with the naval fleet.
"The tasks have been achieved, and there have been no casualties among our personnel," summarized the Defence Intelligence spokesperson in a comment to Suspilne . "The special operation is ongoing, and we are not disclosing all the details. There have been casualties among the enemy's personnel as well as among their forces and assets. Recall that on August 23rd, around 10:00 AM, near the village of Olenivka at Cape Tarkhankut in the temporarily occupied Crimea, a Russian long and medium-range anti-aircraft missile system S-400 "Triumph" was destroyed. The Main Intelligence Directorate emphasized that this will have an impact on the unfolding events in the occupied peninsula.
