The United Kingdom will further remain a reliable partner to support our medical system and help Ukrainians who have lost their limbs in the war. Minister of Health Viktor Liashko stressed following a meeting with the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care of the United Kingdom Sajid Javid on the margins of the 75th session of the World Health Assembly.
"During the war, Great Britain have become one of Ukraine's greatest friends and provided significant support to the healthcare system. Today, I received another assurance that this support will only be strengthened in the future. During the meeting with the British counterpart we agreed on assistance for hospitals in Ukraine, prosthetics of our citizens who lost limbs through the war, assistance in rehabilitation and full support during the restoration of the medical system within United24 initiative," said Viktor Liashko.
According to the Minister of Health of Ukraine, the United Kingdom can join the large-scale reconstruction of medical infrastructure, which was destroyed by the russian occupiers. The Ministry of Health is currently working on a comprehensive plan for the restoration of the medical sphere, which will be part of the Plan for Postwar Reconstruction and Development of Ukraine.
In particular, it is not just about rebuilding ruined hospitals, but about creating a modern network of healthcare facilities based on best international practices as well as implementing innovative approaches to all processes in the medical field.
