In Ramstein, Germany, a meeting took place between representatives of military medicine from Ukraine and the USA.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
During the meeting, significant agreements were reached regarding future cooperation.
The Ukrainian delegation, comprised of representatives from the Ministry of Defense and the command of the Medical Forces, was led by Deputy Minister of Defense Natalia Kalmikova.
From the American side, the negotiations were led by General Roger Giraud, Commander of the European Medical Command, and General Andrew Landers, Commander of the 68th Operational Medical Command of the US Army.
The agreements reached during the meeting include support in training trainers for tactical medicine instructors, continuation of ASSET simulation courses for surgeons, training of medical personnel under specialized programs, as well as training of evacuation brigades.
Additionally, issues of preparing rehabilitation teams, supplying armored evacuation equipment, conducting joint training and research, as well as quality control of turnstiles were discussed.
The Ukrainian side also shared valuable experience in medical operations gained during the Russian-Ukrainian war and raised the issue of the possibility of treating and rehabilitating servicemen with complex cases in US Ministry of Defense clinics.
"We are very grateful to the representatives of the American side for their cooperation, constructive dialogue, and extremely important agreements. We hope to continue expanding our cooperation. This cooperation between Ukraine and the United States is a key step in enhancing the effectiveness of military medicine and strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities," said Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Natalia Kalmikova following the working trip.
