The handover of the vehicles took place in Riga at the Adazi military base during a working visit by Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, Denys Shmyhal.
The delivered vehicles will immediately be put into service with the Special Operations Forces. In total, in 2025 Ukraine has received all 42 armored vehicles promised by Latvia. In addition, Latvia also delivered 12 Combat Reconnaissance Vehicles (CVR(T)), part of a previously announced military aid package.
“Thanks to Defense Minister Andris Sprūds, the Latvian government, and all Latvians for the exceptional level of support. We highly value every step taken shoulder to shoulder with us. The fight continues, and the aggressor is only increasing pressure. We must face this challenge together,” Denys Shmyhal said.

He also expressed gratitude to Latvia for an additional contribution of €2.2 million to the PURL initiative and financial support for the Shelter Coalition. He highlighted the importance of participating in the NATO states’ ‘Renovator’ project to rebuild five military rehabilitation centers in Ukraine.
Furthermore, the Ukrainian Minister of Defense stated that he expects funding to be implemented through a so-called reparations loan using frozen Russian assets.
“Joint decisive steps are needed on this issue, as it concerns the security of both Ukraine and other European countries,” Denys Shmyhal concluded.
