Ukraine has presented an updated study on organic product imports, providing a detailed analysis of the domestic market structure.
The study was conducted by the certification body Organic Standard in partnership with OrganicInfo.ua, with support from Switzerland under the Swiss-Ukrainian program “Higher Value-Added Trade Development in the Organic and Dairy Sectors of Ukraine” (QFTP), implemented by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL, Switzerland) together with SAFOSO AG (Switzerland).
According to the study, Ukraine imported 2,015 tonnes of organic products in 2025, worth a total of $9.63 million. Compared with 2024, import volumes increased by about 10%, while the value rose by nearly 13%, indicating continued growth in demand for organic goods.
As in the previous year, ready-made organic products accounted for the largest share of imports. The biggest categories by volume were alcoholic beverages (529.2 tonnes), non-alcoholic beverages (320.2 tonnes), baby food (211.2 tonnes), and plant-based milk (165.4 tonnes).
At the same time, the structure of imports is gradually changing. While plant-based milk was the second-largest import category in 2024, its supplies more than halved in 2025, falling from 346 to 165.4 tonnes. Meanwhile, imports of non-alcoholic beverages, canned products, yogurts, desserts, and vegetable oils increased.
In 2025, organic products were imported into Ukraine from 40 countries. The largest suppliers by volume were Italy, Spain, and Germany. Overall, Ukraine imported 296 types of certified organic products.
