More resources and global ideas for the Defense Forces. The government has launched an international defense cluster format called Brave International. Ukraine, together with its allies, will now create joint funds to provide grants to the best defense-tech developers from around the world.

The launch of Brave International introduces clear rules for joint projects. The cluster has already announced grant programs with Norway (Brave Norway), France (Brave France), Germany (Brave Germany), Lithuania (Brave Lithuania), and directly with NATO (UNITE Brave NATO).

The total budget of the first international programs already exceeds 100 million euros.

Joint 50/50 funds. Grants will be financed on an equal contribution basis: half from Ukraine, half from the partner country.

Fair selection. Applications will be transparently evaluated by joint expert commissions of Ukrainian and international specialists.

Open access. Both Ukrainian developers and foreign startups will be able to participate in competitions and compete for grants.

Battlefield validation. All developed technologies will be tested in Ukraine through the “Test in Ukraine” platform. This ensures that innovations meet real frontline needs.

The initiative will make it possible to attract the best global technologies for Ukrainian forces, support domestic defense startups, and accelerate the integration of Ukraine’s defense tech into the global market.

Thanks to the government decision, the Brave1 cluster will launch its first joint international competitions in the near future.
