The Ukrainian Grain Association forecasts the 2025 harvest of grains and oilseeds at 81.4 million tons (79 million tons in 2024).

According to the Ukrainian Grain Association, with this harvest, exports in the 2025/26 marketing year could potentially reach 49 million tons (46.7 million tons last season).

“However, this is an optimistic scenario, the realization of which depends on solving serious logistical problems. Ukraine is currently facing significant challenges in grain export logistics due to ongoing Russian terrorist strikes on critical infrastructure — energy, railways, and seaports,” the association noted.

The wheat harvest in 2025 is estimated at 22.5 million tons (22.4 million tons in 2024). Potential wheat exports for the current season are 16.5 million tons.

The gross barley harvest this year is estimated at 4.9 million tons (5.6 million tons in 2024), with potential exports in 2025/26 expected to reach around 2.3 million tons.

The corn harvest is projected at 32 million tons (25.9 million tons in 2024), with potential exports of 25 million tons, assuming smooth logistics.

Sunflower production in 2025 is expected to reach 11.5 million tons (12.8 million tons in 2024). Almost the entire sunflower crop will be processed in Ukraine — 11.4 million tons. Exports are expected to reach no more than 50,000 tons, according to Ukrainian Grain Association.

This year’s rapeseed harvest is 3.2 million tons (3.8 million tons in 2024), with potential exports in 2025/26 reaching only 2.1 million tons; the rest will be processed domestically.

Soy production this year is around 5 million tons, significantly lower than last year (6.8 million tons). Potential exports are 2.5 million tons, with the remainder to be processed in Ukraine, as legislative restrictions limit exports of both soy and rapeseed.

Regarding next year’s harvest, since sowing areas for winter crops are already mostly known and considering the expected spring sowing of summer crops, Ukrainian Grain Association estimates the potential 2026 harvest at 84.5 million tons of grains and oilseeds, of which Ukraine could potentially export around 50 million tons.
