The Ukrainian Book Institute (UBI) has begun preparations for Ukraine’s participation in the international Liber book fair in Madrid in 2025, UBI reports
This year, Liber will take place from October 7 to 9.
UBI noted that participation for Ukrainian publishers at the national stand is free of charge. To participate in Liber 2025, publishers must submit an application via a provided link.
The application deadline is July 4, 2025.
Mandatory conditions for participation at the national stand include presenting only books by Ukrainian authors, having representatives of the publishing house present on the day of the stand setup and throughout the fair, self-financing participation costs, and optionally planning business meetings during the fair.
UBI noted that the fair is organized in a B2B format, which does not involve retail book sales but focuses on deal-making, experience exchange, and networking.
In 2024, Ukraine’s national stand was presented for the first time at Liber 24 in Barcelona.
UBI highlighted that Liber is the largest professional fair of Spanish-language books worldwide and the main event for the book market in Spain and Latin America.
The Ukrainian stand is organized by UBI in cooperation with the NGO “Frontera.”
