Ukraine’s air defense intercepted 59 of 84 drones launched by Russia overnight

On the night of September 15 (from 19:00 on September 14), Russian forces attacked Ukraine with three S-300 surface-to-air missiles from Kursk and Belgorod regions, as well as 84 strike drones, including Shahed and Gerbera types, launched from Kursk, Bryansk, Orel, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. Around 50 of the drones were Shaheds.

The air assault was countered by Ukrainian aviation, air defense missile units, electronic warfare and drone units, and mobile fire groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Preliminary reports as of 09:00 indicate that Ukraine’s air defenses shot down or suppressed 59 drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, and other types, over northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.

Russian strikes were recorded hitting 13 locations, with 25 attack drones successfully reaching their targets.
