Ukraine can become a reliable partner and participant in the Three Seas Initiative, contributing to the energy security of the region. Deputy Minister of Energy Yaroslav Demchenkov emphasized this during a meeting with the Ambassador at Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gediminas Varvuolis. The Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine, Valdemaras Sarapinas, also attended the meeting.

The parties noted that the Three Seas Initiative is a crucial geopolitical, infrastructural, and economic alliance in light of current threats. The Deputy Minister emphasized that Ukraine is focused on enhancing cooperation, particularly in expanding energy corridors and constructing interconnectors between Ukraine and Poland, Romania, and Slovakia. These projects can be identified as joint interest initiatives within the framework of the Initiative. Ukraine is also establishing contacts with LNG terminals of certain Initiative countries and proposes utilizing Ukrainian gas transport infrastructure and storage facilities. According to the Minister of Energy, Herman Halushchenko, Ukraine has significant potential to become the "gas hub" of Europe.

"We are pleased to discuss potential opportunities within the Three Seas Initiative. Ukraine can contribute the values and approaches that we incorporate into our strategic vision for energy development," noted Yaroslav Demchenkov.

Representatives of the Initiative emphasized the importance of Ukraine becoming a participant in the European Commission-approved Project of Common Interest for building a hydrogen corridor through Ukraine, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Germany.

The parties also focused on issues related to the recovery of Ukraine's energy sector based on "green" technologies and sustainable generation, achieving climate neutrality, and integrating the Ukrainian market into the European one.
