Since the beginning of 2026, Ukrainian seaports have handled 40 million tonnes of cargo, more than half of which consists of agricultural goods.

This was reported on Telegram by Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba.

“Ukrainian seaports have handled 40 million tonnes of cargo since the beginning of 2026. More than half of this volume—over 20 million tonnes—is agricultural products that ensure food security for dozens of countries worldwide,” the statement said.

Kuleba stressed that the maritime sector continues to operate under constant Russian attacks. Since the start of the year alone, the enemy has launched more than 1,500 strike drones at Ukrainian ports.

Overall, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has damaged or destroyed 966 port infrastructure facilities and more than 200 civilian vessels. As a result of attacks on ports, 257 civilians have been injured or killed.

Despite all challenges, Ukraine’s maritime corridor continues to operate, ensuring stable exports of Ukrainian goods.
