Ukrainian edtech startup Mate Academy, which offers free programming education leading to employment, is opening a branch in Brazil.

"We have already conducted a test launch and are entering the phase of active marketing. We are also hiring a local team there, which will directly teach and coordinate student employment," says Roman Apostol, co-founder of Mate Academy.

After launching in Brazil, Mate Academy also plans to open branches in other Latin American countries.

Mate Academy in Brazil, similar to its operations in Ukraine, will operate under the Income Share Agreement business model. Students will only pay for their education after securing a job. Following employment, they will contribute 12% of their monthly salary for three years.

All educational materials in Brazil will be available in Portuguese. Students will have access to front-end and full-stack technologies and will also be able to take a basic free course in programming fundamentals.
