On July 16, enterprises of the State Joint Stock Company Ukrainian Defense Industry signed agreements for cooperation with certain Czech defense companies.
A contract was concluded for the supply of goods and services to construct a new production facility for ammunition production for small arms in Ukraine.
Another agreement with a different company involves the localization of assembly, and subsequently, the manufacture of NATO standard assault rifles in Ukraine.
"Czech Republic is one of our most active partners. We are grateful to the Czech people for their support and to Czech arms manufacturers for their trust. I am confident that this cooperation will not only increase arms production in Ukraine but also deepen the integration of Ukrainian defense into the NATO system," said Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin.
"The Czech Republic firmly supports Ukraine in its defense against unprecedented Russian aggression through diplomatic means, as well as by providing economic, humanitarian, and military assistance. I am proud of Czech companies not only for supplying military equipment to the Ukrainian Armed Forces but also for building up Ukraine's self-sufficient defense industry, which will help Ukraine's defense and economy," emphasized Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala.
Recall that on July 7, 2023, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, which envisages support for military-technical cooperation, joint efforts to support projects in arms and ammunition production, and other Czech-Ukrainian defense industry projects. Both of today's agreements were made within the framework of implementing this memorandum.
