By June 2023, Ukrposhta plans to carry out full digitalization, launch more than 2,000 mobile offices, build modern sorting centers and launch a postal bank.
On the first day of his next two-year term, Ukrposhta General Director Ihor Smilyansky announced seven goals that Ukrposhta should achieve under his leadership by June 2023. These items will be included in Ukrposhta's strategy for 2022-2026, which the postal operator will present in the autumn of this year. In addition to these goals, the strategy aims to increase the company's revenue to $ 1 billion.
So, in two years Ukrposhta plans to launch more than 2 thousand mobile post offices. The project started in 2018 and is already operating in 7 regions of Ukraine with a fleet of 630 cars. Fiat Doblo cars are fully equipped for the comfortable operation of mobile compartments. The vehicles are designed for three people and are equipped with a workplace for the teamâs postman. Mobile branches will provide access to postal and banking services for residents of the most remote villages of Ukraine.
It is also planned to complete the construction of the first of 7 sorting centers. Currently, the company has already announced a tender for the construction of a sorting center in Kyiv region and tenders for the construction of sorting centers in Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk. In general, it is planned to build sorting centers in Lviv, Kharkov, Dnipro, Odessa, Ivano-Frankivsk and two in Kyiv.
Another task of Ukrposhta is to launch a full-fledged postal bank. Now the postal operator is holding a tender to select a company to evaluate the bank. The company must decide on the choice of bank to buy by the end of this year. With the launch of the postal bank, Ukrposhta will become virtually the only provider of banking services for residents of villages and small towns where bank branches are not present. In addition, the company will immediately enter the list of banks with the largest number of branches (about 11 thousand branches). The company plans to move the postal bank to five banks by the number of customers by 2023.
The company's plans are also to:
- Liberalise unilaterally and modernize postal legislation, bringing it into line with EU standards.
- Attract an international investor in the capital of Ukrposhta by 25% +
- Prepare a team that will continue reforms after 2023.
