Former world lightweight champion Vasiliy Lomachenko commented on the upcoming fight against Japanese Masayoshi Nakatani.
The fight night will begin on Saturday, June 26 at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT. and will be held at the Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
According to the ex-champion, Masayoshi Nakatani will make him a worthy competitor in the ring:
They didnât tell me the names, they offered me to go down to the second featherweight and watch fights there. I refused, said that I would like to hear what the names of the lightweight division could be. Then they named me Nakatani, and we, on reflection, agreed.

Masayoshi Nakatani is a Japanese professional boxer. He held the OPBFlightweight title between 2014 and 2018, and won the World Boxing Organisation Inter-Continental lightweight title in 2020.
I believe this is the best contender for a comeback at the moment. Again, who is pursuing what goals. For the purpose that I am pursuing, this is the best option. I do not set a goal for the distance - it will be 12 rounds, stop, knockdown or knockout.

Lomachenko is rated no. 8 pound for pound and no. 1 by The Ring at lightweight, while Nakatani is rated no. 9 by The Ring at 135 pounds.
I have already said that you box the way your opponent allows. Of course, if I manage to finish the fight ahead of schedule, I will. And if not, I won't be upset. Throughout the fight I will do what I can.
