Ukraine is interested in cooperating with Japan's Mitsubishi Corporation, which holds a license to manufacture Patriot missiles and has experience in establishing such production facilities, President Volodymyr Zelensky said yesterday while answering journalists' questions.
Responding to a question about whether Ukraine is interested in working with Mitsubishi, Zelensky said:
"We know what Mitsubishi does. The company has demonstrated an exceptionally high level of Patriot missile production. It is probably the strongest example today of how, after obtaining a U.S. license, a country can establish its own anti-ballistic missile production. We would certainly like to see Mitsubishi in Ukraine. We would welcome the opportunity to exchange experience, but that depends on the willingness of the Japanese side."
The president also emphasized Ukraine's respect for Japan, its technology, and its level of development.
"We are ready to share our own achievements and technologies. I am confident that we will have a common vision in many areas," he said.
