"Wiki loves the Earth" is an annual international photo contest dedicated to natural monuments. Here is the best photos of the 2021
In 2021, the competition is held in Ukraine for the ninth time. The aim of the project is to create the widest possible database of photos of natural monuments, fill Wikipedia and other wiki projects, and promote environmental protection and nature protection.
We are pleased to present the best photos of the ninth contest "Wiki loves the Earth" to you. These photos represent various protected areas of nine regions of Ukraine and the city of Kyiv and introduce you to the incredible beauty of our nature.
Wiki loves the Earth is part of the international Wiki Loves Earth competition, launched in Ukraine in 2013; in 2020, 34 countries took part in it. In total, throughout the history of the competition, the participants of the Ukrainian part of the competition photographed more than four thousand objects and territories of the nature reserve fund of Ukraine, a total of more than 110 thousand photos.
Ukraine is in second place among the 34 participating countries in terms of the number of uploaded photos. This year, 330 participants uploaded more than 11,000 photos of the objects of the nature reserve fund of Ukraine. Only contestants from Germany submitted more photos - more than 13,000 photos.
The top ten photos of Ukraine include photos taken in Rivne (Pripyat-Stokhid Nature Park), Ternopil (Kremenets Mountains National Nature Park), Kherson (Baidykha Beam in the Stanislavsky Reserve), Khmelnytsky (Transnistrian Reserve), Zaporizhia (Berdyansk spit), Chernivtsi (Shyshkovy hills), Ivano-Frankivsk (Arshitsa tract), Zakarpattia (Shipot waterfall), Kyiv (Kalynove tract) regions and the city of Kyiv (Bila Dibrova).
