Military expert Alexander Kovalenko has said whether a full-scale war will end if Russian President Putin dies. Against the backdrop of rumors that the bloody dictator is ill and may die soon, many are interested in the Kremlin's further actions.
Kovalenko shared his forecast with Channel 24.
If Putin dies, a full-scale war in Ukraine could continue according to different scenarios. The situation will depend on who takes the place of the bloody dictator. Kovalenko believes that instead of Putin, one of the representatives of the power structures of the Russian Federation can become president.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the FSB, and the ground forces of the aggressor country have every chance that one of these structures will replace the dictator. However, each institution has its own goals and expectations from the so-called "special operation" - as Putin and his henchmen call a full-scale war in Ukraine. Sergei Shoigu, for example, has a "dream" to get a direct route to unrecognized Transnistria. However, among the officials, many simply want to cut the budget of the Russian Federation.
Kovalenko believes that whoever replaces Putin in the event of his death will still demonstrate "non-imperial revanchism", which is the genetic code of Russians. Any person who becomes president of the Russian Federation will "bargain" about Ukrainian territories.
Ukraine should not expect a full-scale war to end quickly if Putin dies. A war criminal who wants to encroach on the territory of Ukraine will still come to power.
âAs long as they need the war to continue and until they have an effective scenario for a large-scale flight from Ukraine, the fighting will continue,â Kovalenko added.
