During the online call, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the musician for his support.
"Thank you for choosing to join the Rebuilding direction. Many people's lives have been destroyed. Now we need to involve as many celebrities as possible to draw attention to the need to restore the homes of Ukrainians affected by the war," the Head of State said.Â
"I'm not alone in my desire to help Ukraine," said Brad Paisley, "but like many people in America, I wasn't sure how to reach out from the United States. I am very fortunate to be joining a platform that will allow me to do so. As an American, I see how similar we are, how many values we share with the brave Ukrainians, and I will focus my efforts on helping Ukrainian families rebuild their homes and return home."Â
Brad Paisley has won three Grammy Awards, fifteen Academy of Country Music Awards, fourteen Country Music Association Awards and two American Music Awards. In 2008, he became the first artist to have ten consecutive singles hit number one on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
The singer has been supporting Ukraine since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, including participating in Ukraine: Answering the Call charity telethon, which was broadcast in prime time on three American channels.
Initiated by the President of Ukraine, the United24 fundraising platform is the main window for collecting donations to support Ukraine. Over the eight months of its operation, the platform has raised more than $270 million from citizens from 110 countries. The list of the ambassadors of United24 includes prominent athletes Andriy Shevchenko, Elina Svitolina and Oleksandr Usyk, Balenciaga creative director Demna, American actors Liev Schreiber and Mark Hamill, Imagine Dragons, singer and actress Barbra Streisand, astronaut Scott Kelly and historian Timothy Snyder.
