Yuliya Svyrydenko, as Prime Minister, plans to direct the work of the new Cabinet of Ministers toward the country’s defense needs.

She stated this in the Verkhovna Rada before the vote on her appointment.

“The first priority we will work on during the first six months is quality provision for the army, increasing domestic weapons production, and improving the technological level of the Ukrainian military. We need to focus efforts on ensuring the independence of the Ukrainian economy. I continue to see my mission as supporting Ukrainian manufacturers,” Svyrydenko said.

She also emphasized that the Cabinet will make efforts to support Ukrainian entrepreneurs.

“This means continuing comprehensive regulation, stopping unauthorized pressure on business, speeding up privatization, and further implementing effective support organizations—so that everything is done in Ukraine. We are preparing to soon introduce a full moratorium on business inspections,” she added.

Svyrydenko stressed that the new government will focus on ensuring Ukraine’s ability to fully meet its social obligations.

“We will preserve and scale the most effective tools for supporting Ukrainian manufacturers, quality jobs, Ukrainian goods, Ukrainian services, and Ukrainian exports. Therefore, Ukraine’s ability to fully fulfill social obligations is our clear goal. I want everyone in the country to feel real positive changes,” Svyrydenko declared.

The new government will conduct an audit of state expenditures, and further spending from the state budget will be reduced.

“We have already begun work on optimizing the state apparatus and are aiming for a full audit of expenditures with the goal of reducing them. Ukraine will be ready in all negotiation clusters. We will continue our European integration and keep moving toward NATO,” Svyrydenko said.

According to her, the future government of Ukraine faces difficult tasks.

“I believe that today you, our parliamentarians, will support our government. Ahead of us are difficult joint tasks, new challenges of war, and a lot of work. The country expects action from us. We must show results every day. With faith in our victory, with gratitude and love for our country, I am ready to continue serving Ukraine,” Svyrydenko declared.

The first meeting of the new government was held immediately after the parliamentary vote.

The new government is one of the smallest in terms of the number of ministers in the country’s history.
