In Berlin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

Zelenskyy thanked Germany for its support for Ukraine across all areas, particularly its assistance in protecting lives.

The two presidents discussed joint efforts with the United States to bring peace closer. Zelenskyy emphasised the importance of Europe's involvement in the process, noting that talks involving representatives of the United States, NATO, Europe and Ukraine would take place in Brussels the following day at the level of negotiating teams.

"We are preparing for the meeting in Abu Dhabi and working constructively. We need the same constructive approach from Russia," Zelenskyy said.

The Ukrainian president briefed Steinmeier on the situation in Ukraine and the consequences of Russian attacks.

Since the morning alone, Russian strikes have damaged energy infrastructure in Kyiv and five Ukrainian regions: Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Volyn and Cherkasy.

The two leaders also discussed the possibility of providing energy assistance to the Chernihiv region. The region is under the personal patronage of the German Federal President and continues to suffer from almost uninterrupted Russian attacks.

Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine is relying heavily on assistance from its international partners to get through the coming winter.
