President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a law providing for the creation of a Payment Agency to oversee support programmein the agricultural sector. This is indicated by the legislative bill card “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding the Organizational Principles of Support in the Agricultural Sector” on the Verkhovna Rada website.
The law envisages the establishment of a Payment Agency that will administer, control, and monitor all support programmes in the agricultural sector. The Agency will help ensure a fair distribution of aid among all categories of agricultural producers, increase trust in the state support system, and enable the effective use of both budgetary resources and international assistance provided for the restoration and development of the agricultural industry.
Moreover, the creation of such an institution aligns with European standards and is a key element in harmonizing Ukrainian legislation with EU law.
